Nadine Marais and Scott Redpath have taken on the massive challenge of riding the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge on Greg and Lucky's behalf. However, they've decided to join thousands of other Joburgers and ride for a purpose come November 18th!
Speaking to 947's Afternoon Drive team, Lucky's super confident and competitive replacement Nadine, expressed her passion for children as the reason she has decided to ride for Surgeons for Little Lives. Established in 2015, this non-profit organisation run by a small group of paediatric surgeons, who are raising the level of care for less fortunate children who are in need of life-changing surgery in hospitals in and around Gauteng.
Without the little guys, we don't have future leaders, they are the most helpless. As kids, they are completely dependent on us.Nadine Marais
Super chilled and laid back Scott, will be riding for our furry friends - The SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind. With a history spanning over five decades, the organisation was founded to enhance the mobility and independence of people who have visual, physical and developmental needs throughout the country.
Our good friends at Telkom also came to the party to help Nadine and Scott in their mission to ride for a purpose. Both the replacements will be receiving Huawei B618 LTE routers, Huawei P20 Pro cell phone and 200GBof Telkom Data for their respective charities.
As Telkom we want to make sure the charities always stay connected and are able to communicate with people so they can continue to raise more money for the work that they do.Braam Wessels, Sponserships Manager at Telkom
