How to navigate #RideJoburg road closures with ease

This Sunday, 17 November, the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg will be taking place through Joburg. A big appeal of this race is the fact that cyclists get to "own" the streets of Joburg, thanks to full road closures ensuring the safety of all participants along the route.

The route starts and ends at Century Property's Riversands Commercial Park, just off the R511 in Fourways. It meanders through the streets of Joburg from Steyn City Boulevard through to Cedar Road, Witkoppen Road, up Jan Smuts Avenue and the M1 South; finally bringing cyclists home via the R55, through Summit Road; and back to the finish along Riversands Boulevard.

Race office has created an interactive map together with MapIT to assist all the affected residents in and around Joburg. The map allows residents to insert the location they are leaving from and where they are heading. It will re-route the resident to their desired location while making sure that they avoid the road closures.

Use the MapIT Interactive Map to re-route yourself around the road closures.

Free parking has been organised at Riversands Commercial Park for supporters who would like to experience the start and finish of the race.
