Cycle Lab has launched a campaign that is set to propel beginner cyclists into the world of cycling and the chance to take on the iconic Discovery 947 Ride Joburg, taking place on Sunday, 17 November.
The Cycle Lab Zero to Hero campaign is aimed at cyclists who have always wanted to get involved in the sport but find it too expensive. Now, aspiring cyclists can get freedom on a budget with the Zero to Hero Starter Pack that instantly gives them everything they need to hit the road running.
For just R5999.99, cyclists will be kitted out with a flat-handlebar Marvel Cadent road bike with gears and disc brakes, a pair of padded cycling shorts, a helmet, a set of cycling essentials (bottle cage, bottle, tube mini-pump, tyre levers), a cycle computer, a training plan for Discovery 947 Ride Joburg and access to safe, guided road rides with Cycle Lab Active Fourways until 9 November 2019.
“The Starter Pack is ideal for those who have always wanted to tackle Discovery 947 Ride Joburg, but didn’t know where to start or found the costs associated with the sport too daunting. We want to give them the kickstart they need to enjoy the unique freedom of cycling, and at the same time promote and grow the sport,” said Sean Badenhorst, Head of Marketing at Cycle Lab.
Discovery 947 Ride Joburg Race Director, Tanya Harford, said the Cycle Lab Zero to Hero campaign perfectly aligns with the event objectives to get more people moving. She encouraged cyclists who buy the Zero to Hero Starter Pack to consider the Discovery 947 Vitality Short Ride if they find the 94.7km route too intimidating.
Around 40km long, the Short Ride offers more people the opportunity to own the streets of Joburg, but at their own pace. While the route is shorter, riders will have the same world-class Ride Joburg experience. It’s a great place to start as you work yourself up to tackling the 94.7kmTanya Harford, Race Director - Discovery 947 Ride Joburg
